Katharine McPhee
Katharine McPhee originated the role of Jenna Hunterson in Waitress the Musical on the West End, having played the role on Broadway for 5 months in 2018. Following her run in London, she returned to the Broadway show on 25 November to perform until the show’s closure on 5 January 2020.
Katharine has released 5 studio albums since she was the runner-up on the fifth season of “American Idol” in 2006. She made her screen debut in 2008 in “The House Bunny,” and has made cameo appearances in other films and TV shows, including “Ugly Betty” and “Family Guy.” In 2012, she became one of the leading ladies in “Smash,” the NBC show about musical theatre, where she played Karen Cartwright. In 2014, Kat was cast as Paige Dineen in “Scorpion,” an American action drama television series created by Nick Santora for CBS.
Kat was specifically asked by the producers of Waitress to reprise her performance as Jenna to open the show in London at the Adelphi Theatre, where she stayed from 8 February, when the show opened in previews, through to 15 June 2019. Following her departure, she married songwriter and producer, David Foster, on 28 June at the St. Yeghiche Armenian Apostolic Church in Kensington, London.
