Katie Lowes
Katie Lowes played the role of Dawn Louise Pinkett in Waitress the Musical on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre for a limited engagement in summer 2018, alongside her real-life husband Adam Shapiro as Ogie.
Katie is best known for her role as Quinn Perkins in the ABC political drama series “Scandal.” Both Katie and Adam made their Broadway debuts in Waitress.
On appearing in Waitress, Katie said: “One, when you’re hired by someone like Sara Bareilles – who’s your friend – you feel so lucky and honoured to sing her words; I also feel this responsibility to a lot of people who relate to Dawn. When I got outside every night to the autograph line, the women in the audience and the girls in the audience that might be teenagers or 20s, 30s, 40s, they come up to be and say Dawn’s song is the song I most relate to. And last, I’m playing Adrienne Shelley’s role in the freaking movie. I really truly believe this is the hardest professional thing I have ever done.”
