Sugar, Butter, Flour: The Waitress Pie Book

Sugar, Butter, Flour: The Waitress Pie Book features recipes from the files of Jenna Hunterson, the proprietor and chief baker of Lulu’s Pies. The book was published on 23 May 2017, by Pam Krauss Books and Avery New York, with text written by Daniel Gercke, recipes by Sheri Castle, photographs by Evan Sung and design by Ashley C. Tucker.

 

The book has an introduction from Jenna, with her rules for baking and life, with the recipes laid out in five sections:

  • Baked From The Heart: Fruit Pies
  • Dish It Up: Savoury Pies
  • Feels So Good To Be Bad: Chocolate and Nut Pies
  • A Soft Place To Land: Custard and Cream Pies
  • Lulus: Blue-Ribbon Winners

Recipes for many of the pies featured in the musical, including Old Joe’s Horny Past Pie, Jenna’s Devil’s Food Chocolate Oasis Pie, In the Dark, Dark Triple Chocolate Truffle Pie, I Can’t Have an Affair Because It’s Wrong (and I Don’t Want Earl to Kill Me) Marbled Chocolate Cheesecake Pie, are featured in the book.
