In 2024, rights to Waitress the Musical were released for regional non-replica premieres across the United States.

One of these took place at Theatre Cedar Rapids, Iowa commencing on 30 July 2024.

Directed by Angie Toomsen, with new choreography from Megan Robinson and musical direction from Janelle Lauer, much like the Broadway production, this also has a female-led team. The show has new costume design from Jess Helberg, and lighting and scenic design by S. Benjamin Farrar.
