Following the conclusion of the replica tours of Waitress the Musical across the USA and Canada, rights for professional regional productions were released in 2024, allowing local theatre companies to stage their own performances. All of these productions are considered non-replica, in that they often have different costume design, different set design, and sometimes different orchestration – for most of these productions, the actor portraying Jenna has re-recorded the ‘Sugar, Butter, Flour’ loop that opens the show, rather than using the original recording by Sara Bareilles.
