Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Waitress has supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month since opening on Broadway in 2016, raising money for Susan G. Komen® Greater New York City.
Pink Outfits
For the first time in Broadway history, a show made an active change to the show to recognise Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in October 2017, changing the colour of the waitresses costumes from blue to pink. This was repeated in October 2018 and October 2019.
Merchandise
A special pin badge in the shape of a coffee mug with the Waitress logo and a pink ribbon was released, with all proceeds going to Susan G. Komen® Greater New York City.
Pie Jars
Cute As Cake NYC created a new pie jar for the month, featuring a pink white chocolate mousse on an Oreo base, with whipped cream on top and pink ribbon, raising funds for Susan G. Komen® Greater New York City.
West End
Following the success of supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Broadway, on Friday 18 October 2019, known a #WearItPinkDay, the London production changed the colour of the waitresses costumes from blue to pink, raising awareness for Breast Cancer Now.
Collection buckets were at all exits of the Adelphi Theatre encouraging guests to donate to the charity.
