Japan Tour

Waitress the Musical premiered in Japan in March 2021, opening in Tokyo before going on a national tour of the country, closing on 2 May 2021 in Nagoya.

The replica production is sponsored and produced by Toho, Fuji Television and Kyodo Tokyo, alongside Barry and Fran Weissler, who produced the show on Broadway and the West End.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions in Japan, patrons to the diner were asked to have a temperature check and wear a face covering for their entire time in the theatre; however, seats were not socially distanced due to the low number of cases in the country.

An exclusive range of limited merchandise was created for the Japanese tour, including a specific souvenir tour programme, tote bag and T shirt.
