Lahti
Lanti, Finland saw the second Scandinavian non-replica production of Waitress the Musical open in 2021, opening at the Lahti City Theater on 1 September 2021. Licensed by Music Theatre International, the show was marketed as Waitress: The Recipe for Dreams.
Lahti City Theatre was established in 1950, and moved into its current permanent home in 1983, where is is one of the largest professional theatres in Finland, both in size and capacity.
The show was translated into Finnish by Mikko Koivusalo, and directed by Ilkka Laasonen, with musical direction by Antti Vauramo.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions in Finland, the show was extended, due to extended periods of theatre closure, and played its last performance on 14 May 2022.
