Emma originated the role of Dawn in Waitress the Musical in Japan.
Emma is a Japanese TV and radio personality and actress, who has appeared in a variety of musicals in Japan including Sister Act, Bare, and Jekyll and Hide.
On starring in Waitress, Emma said: “I am very happy to be playing the role of Dawn in Waitress. I saw it on Broadway – I cried, and ate pie, (which I bought because of the delicious scent floating in the theatre!). Work, friendship, romance, mistakes and growth are realistically depicted (and it is the first time in Broadway history that all of the main production team are women) – I saw these real women alive on stage and I felt courageous. I’m really looking forward to seeing you at the diner.”
