Kunio Murai

Kunio originated the role of Joe in Waitress the Musical in Japan.

He is most famous for being the Japanese voice actor for Harrison Ford, including in the Indiana Jones films, as well as appearing in many theatre, TV and film productions.

He won he 47th Japan National Arts Festival for Theatre Award in 1992 for his role in Kiss Of The Spider Woman.

He said: “My role is to be the owner of a pie shop that lives well, but supports Jenna behind the scenes. He has a bad mouth and is a sarcastic person, but he likes Jenna and has high expectations for her. Jenna is having a hard time with her husband, but she is doing her best to make his favourite pies. I’m watching over Jenna gently. The music is pop and it makes me happy to listen to it. Many of the co-stars are new to us, and I’m looking forward to it. Young actors are really talented, aren’t they? The grandfather in me wants to keep up with them and make it fun!
