Dakin Matthews

Dakin Matthews originated the role of Joe in Waitress the Musical at the American Repertory Theater in 2015, as well as opening the show on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Dakin’s voice can be heard on the Original Broadway Cast Recording.

Dakin has an extensive back catalogue of work, with a long history in film, television and theater, as well as being a playwright, director, and theatrical scholar. During his work teaching, he taught Patti LuPone, Annette Bening and Kevin Kline, amongst others.

He has appeared in more than 25 feature films, including “Flubber,” “Like Father Like Son,” “Clean and Sober,” and “Child’s Play 3.” In 2010, Dakin joined the cast of the ABC soap opera “General Hospital” as Judge Peter Carroll, and he has also made appearances in “Gilmore Girls,” “Desperate Housewives,” and “King of Queens.”

He left Waitress on 12 October 2017.
