Keala Settle

Keala Settler originated the role of Becky in Waitress the Musical at the American Repertory Theater in 2015, as well as opening the show on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Keala’s voice can be heard on the Original Broadway Cast Recording.

Keala previously played the role of Madame Thenardier in Les Misérables, starting in March 2014 and ending in March 2015, having originated the role of Norma Valverde in Hands on a Hardbody in 2013, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award.

After leaving Waitress, Keala was cast in the global phenomenon movie-musical, The Greatest Showman, alongside Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Zendaya. She portrayed Lettie Lutz, a bearded lady, performing the film’s most notable song, ‘This Is Me’, which won the 2018 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

In 2018, she was featured on Todrick Hall‘s album, ‘Forbidden’, on the song ‘Forbidden’, a song against homophobia. Todrick later performed in Waitress, playing Ogie Herbert Eincorn in mid 2019.

Keala will make her West End debut in 2022, starring as the Nurse in & Juliet.
