Bryan Fenkart

Bryan Fenkart originated the role of Dr. Jim Pomatter in the First National Tour of Waitress the Musical. He reprised the role in the 2022 US Residencies.

He had originally auditioned for the Broadway company, but did not make the cast; he was invited to audition for the touring production, and was allowed to skip all the initial auditions and brought back for the callback, being offered the role after riding the subway home.

On the audition process, Bryan said: “Diane Paulus, the director, is very particular and needs to see a lot of material. When I went in the first time, it was probably a solid 28 pages of material. I think it was all four of the songs I sing in the show, plus four scenes I had to audition with. Initially, not the whole creative team is there. You go in just with the reader and the casting director, and then the next time you go in, Sara Bareilles and Diane are there. I probably had to go in four or five times in total the first time. The second time around, they had already seen me do it and they knew I could do it.”

Bryan has appeared on TV and starred in several independent films, making his network television debut in an episode of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” which included the introduction of Jeff Goldblum’s character to the show. He also had a starring role in the independent film “Red Hook,” which aired on aired on Showtime In Demand.
