Nick Cordero

Nick Cordero originated the role of Earl Hunterson on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Nick’s voice can be heard on the Original Broadway Cast Recording.

Prior to Waitress, Nick appeared on Broadway playing Cheech in Bullets Over Broadway, for which he received 2014 Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominations, and won both an Outer Critics Circle Award and a Theater World Award. Nick appeared on Broadway as Dennis in Rock Of Ages, after playing the role across the country in the First National Tour.

After leaving Waitress on 22 September 2016, Nick started in A Bronx Tale: The Musical, and later, Rock of Ages in Los Angeles.

Nick married Amanda Kloots in September 2017, and they had a son, Elvis, in June 2019.

In March 2020, Nick was diagnosed with Coronavirus (COVID-19); he sadly passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, from complications associated with the disease on 5 July 2020, aged 41.

The 2021 Broadway Restaging of Waitress includes a new pie on the board of Joe’s Pie Diner, ‘A Big Ol’ Slice Of Live Your Life Pie’, dedicated to Nick. The pie is named after his hit single, ‘Live Your Life’, which many members of the Waitress on Broadway family recorded a virtual cover of, in April 2020, to raise funds for Nick’s wife, Amanda.
