Knocked Up You

‘Knocked Up You’ is a song written for the other pregnant women at the GP surgery, whilst Jenna in Waitress, is waiting for her appointment, that was not used in the final musical. The song was replaced by ‘Club Knocked Up‘ in the final show. The demo version was included in the 2019 EP, ‘What’s Not Inside: The Lost Songs From Waitress‘.

Lyrics

Knock, knock

Who’s  there?

No,  knock, knock

What?

It’s a joke

Knock, knock

Who’s  there ?

Knocked up

Knocked up who?

Knocked up you

Start getting ready

There’s no point in your trying to hide

The  one you hide from already nestled inside

Watch in amazement

Your transformation has just begun

You’ll barely resemble yourself

When Mother Nature is done

Your belly will swell, your feet will as well

Your skin will be stretched to the heavens

Scars left behind

To remind you of knocked up you

Your hair will grow thick

Your mornings get sick

Your body building the placenta

Full frontal eclipse

Baby, this is knocked up you

Knock, knock

Who’s there?

Knocked up

Knocked up who?

Knocked up you

In your fertile ground the seed will grow

And from this moment you’ll never be alone

Your pregnancy brain won’t let you forget it

Acid reflux is first

Then bladders go burst

Surprise! Incontinence!

Backaches and headaches

It’s all for the knocked up you

Your haemorrhoids will itch

And you’ll be a bitch

Then be called one behind your back

Your symptoms never seem to stop

For the knocked up you

Knock, knock

Who’s there?

Knocked up

Knocked up who?

Knocked up you
